Parker Arts Council Plays

One area of extreme pride for PAC is their theatrical productions presented to the town of Parker. Performed at the Mainstreet Center in partnership with the Parker Cultural Commission and the Town of Parker these events have received excellent reviews and feature many local actors including prominent business people within the area. The PAC is pleased that with each new season attendance has increased…with the community anxiously awaiting each new performance.   The PAC will continue to offer theatrical productions to the community and is always looking for new actors at our auditions and volunteers interested in helping behind the scenes with our theatre productions.

The PAC entered its third season in 2005 by producing four theatrical productions. The PAC’s first event the theatrical production of Neil Simon’s "Rumors" had an audience of 353 throughout its four scheduled performances and was a huge Valentines Day success. "Going to see the Elephants" written by Karen Hensel and Elana Kent portrayed the struggles of four frontier Kansas women in the 1870’s and was performed two nights. "You Can’t Take it with You", a comedy by Moss Hart and George Kaufman, partnered the PAC with KOS Productions to bring this charming play to Parker during the fall. The PAC also introduced Readers Theatre to the community in April by producing “Getting Out” by Marsha Norman.

Entering into its fourth season in 2006 the PAC community theatre group will be providing the Town of Parker with two quality theatrical productions; "Pillow Talk" a comedy and "And Then There Were None" a murder mystery. A special fundraiser Dinner/Theatre night during one evening of the murder mystery will be catered by Johnny Carino’s. "Proof" by David Auburn will round out our theatrical season and will be produced as Readers theatre to bring new actors into our theater group and try new pieces for the community to enjoy.
