ABOUT USAbout Parker Arts CouncilOur Mission
statement is "To provide opportunities for cultural enrichment
through participation, education and outreach to the local community".
Our current board of volunteer members meets once a month on
the second Tuesday evening at 7:00PM. Our executive board consists of five
members elected in August to serve a twenty-four month term. The PAC is
a 501(c)3 non profit organization partially funded by the Scientific and
Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) through a grant submission process.
Other funding resources include partnerships with local businesses providing
sponsorship and In-Kind resources to enhance current cultural events and
assist in developing new cultural activities within the community.
Youth programs have been a high priority for the PAC. Developing new alliances and enhancing our existing relationship
with the Douglas County School District has allowed for the development of numerous youth activities.
An Internship program for both high school and college students, collaboration with local high school theatre programs and
a teen Battle of the Bands provide opportunities for students to learn more about the arts and in some cases fulfill community service requirements for graduation.
Youth are recruited to work in many different facets of the arts including theatre production, cultural event planning and logistics, and audio/visual technique. For further information about specific events please contact us.
Our History...The Parker Arts Council (PAC) was formed in 2003 by several founding members of the Parker Cultural Commission.
This group of professionals, musicians, artists, teachers, directors, and business leaders made a decision to go in a new direction to bring more opportunities
for citizens to experience and participate in the arts. The PAC was registered with the Colorado Secretary of State on February 17, 2004 and received 501(c)3 non-profit status in early 2004.
Through an existing grant process within Douglas County the PAC applied and received their first funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) in
October 2004. The PAC has received SCFD grant monies each year thereafter. PAC truly appreciates the generous support. Since its inception the PAC has produced at least two theatrical productions each year, introduced Readers Theatre and a Literature to Life series
to the community, instituted an Internship program for high school and college students, produced events which celebrate the unique cultures of other nations and had designed, constructed and operated
the "Stable of Terror" for Halloween with Horses. The PAC continually researches new event ideas to offer various avenues to the community for experiencing a multitude of cultural activities.
It has developed excellent partnerships with local businesses and has received generous amounts of In-Kind contributions. The PAC plans to continue thes alliances and develop new associations
with businesses in the future. For further information about specific events, volunteering your time or talent, sponsoring an event or becoming a member of the board please contact the PAC.
